We have a variety of spaces for intimate gatherings as small as 10, to large celebrations of up to 300.
Whether it is just cocktails and canapés, a private dinner party or even a product launch, we aim to tailor a unique and memorable experience for you. We’re right in the centre of Oxford, above the Covered Market and moments from Oxford Town Hall

  • VIP Terrace

    The VIP Terrace overlooks The High St and the dreaming spires. There is a mix of seating and standing for up to 35ppl. This includes our stunning ‘pod’ which opens up wide in Summer with shade from the sun. Hire is for 3 hours.
    The Pod is ideal for 12-15 people and can be booked separately.

    Hire Fee: £250 Friday & Saturday
    Hire Fee: £150 Sunday to Thursday
    Minimum Spend : £500
    Capacity: up to 35 guests.

  • roof terrace

    The main terrace can accommodate up to 100 people (mixed seated/standing). A large area has retractable covers and heating in winter . Exclusive hire is available for 3 hours. Available Sun – Thu from 6pm. on Fridays bookings from 22:30 onwards may be considered.
    Exclusive hire is NOT offered on Saturdays.

    Hire Fee: £1,500
    Minimum Spend: £2,000
    Capacity: up to 100 guests

  • Cocktail lounge

    Varsity Lounge Level 3. This luxurious lounge holds up to 150 and can be reserved when booking the Main Terrace or full venue.

    Hire Fee: £500 Sunday to Thursday
    Minimum Spend: £1,500
    Capacity: up to 100 guests

  • Level 2 bar

    Level 2 Private Floor with DJ and Bar ideal for land mark occasions for capacity upto 90 guests.

    Hire Fee: £500 Sunday to Thursday
    Hire Fee: £600 Friday & Saturday
    Minimum Spend: £1,000
    Capacity: up to 100 guests

  • 1st floor club

    The Club Floor has 250 capacity ideal for a large party or private Ball. A full venue hire is also available to include all floors.

    Hire Fee: £500 Sunday to Thursday
    Hire Fee: £600 Friday & Saturday
    Minimum Spend: £1,500
    Capacity: over 100+

Bookings Terms & Conditions

Hire fees and Minimum Spend 

  • Payment of the deposit or hire fee confirms the venue hire booking 

  • Payment of the hire fee balance and any outstanding prepayments have to be made no later than 2 weeks before the event date

  • For any bookings made within 2 weeks of the event date the hire fees and prepayments need to be paid in full at the time of booking. 

  • All food and drink pre orders and orders on the day contribute towards the agreed minimum spend.

  • Please note: A service charge applies in addition to the minimum spend agreement.

  • Any outstanding minimum spend that has not been reached by the end of the event will be payable within 7 days of the event taking place. 

    Decorations and external contractors

  • We welcome external decorations to be brought into the venue to dress the space to your liking upon prior approval and agreement with the bookings coordinator.

  • Exceptions for this are confetti and confetti balloons which we do not allow. 

  • Any items (including any transport and set up materials) need to be removed from the venue after your booking has ended or in some pre-arranged cases no later than 12pm the following day. 

    Terms of cancellation for private hire

    Cancellation of a private hire booking is to be made directly with the venue via phone or email contact. The cancellation becomes effective upon confirmation via email from the Bookings Coordinator.

    Refunds 

    A refund of the hire fee and any additional pre payments are subject to the following terms. It is at the discretion of the venue to vary these terms - for example if the event can be rescheduled for an alternative date. 

    • cancellation more than 2 months in advance - 100% refund

    • cancellation more than 1 month in advance - 50% refund 

    • cancellation more than 2 weeks in advance - 25% refund 

    • cancellation less than 2 weeks in advance - no refund
